Independent Uprising
IT TAKES THE FANS TO RAISE THE BANDS
Independent Uprising is for the artists still doing it the hard way.
The musicians writing their own songs, loading their own gear, driving hundreds of miles, promoting their own shows and building a fanbase one person at a time. No major label. No huge machine behind them. Just talent, determination and a love for the music.
After years of booking, promoting and working with independent artists, I've seen firsthand how much work goes into keeping independent music alive. I've also seen how much difference one fan can make—buying a ticket, sharing a song, buying merch or simply telling somebody, "You need to hear this band."
That's what Independent Uprising is about. Supporting the artists, the venues, the promoters and the fans who still believe in discovering real music and helping it grow.
Because it takes the fans to raise the bands.
WHY INDEPENDENT UPRISING?
I've spent years in the independent music scene, booking bands, promoting shows and seeing what happens behind the scenes. And believe me, I've seen both the good and the bad.
I've watched incredibly talented musicians give everything they've got to play a show, only to walk away with barely enough money to cover their gas. I've seen small venues struggle to keep their doors open, promoters take financial risks just to bring live music to their communities, and bands work their asses off trying to get their music heard.
The music industry has changed. Touring costs have gone through the roof, smaller venues are struggling, and getting people through the door isn't as easy as it used to be. Meanwhile, there are amazing independent artists making music that deserves to be heard, but without a major label or a big promotional budget, getting noticed can feel almost impossible.
That's where the idea for Independent Uprising came from.
I wanted to create something that brings independent artists and music fans together. A place where bands can get some exposure, fans can discover their next favorite artist, and people can be reminded that supporting independent music doesn't always mean spending a ton of money.
Stream their songs. Share their posts. Buy their merch when you can. Get out and see a show. Tell somebody about a band that deserves to be heard.
I've always believed music brings people together, and I've seen firsthand what happens when a community gets behind an artist.
Independent music has survived this long because people believed in it.
Maybe it's time for the fans to make some noise again.
HOW YOU CAN BE PART OF THE UPRISING
Independent Uprising isn't just about the artists. It's about the fans who discover them, listen to them, share their music and show up when it matters.
You don't need a record label, a huge following or a ton of money to make a difference. Sometimes helping an independent artist starts with something as simple as hitting play.
DISCOVER
Find an independent artist you've never heard before. Give the unknown band a chance. Your next favorite artist might be one you've never seen on the radio or at the top of a playlist.
LISTEN
Stream their music. Watch their videos. Check out their live performances. Every listen helps, but more importantly, it gives their music a chance to reach somebody new.
SHARE
Share the song. Share the video. Share the show flyer. Tag a friend and say, "You need to hear this band." Word of mouth still matters, and sometimes one share reaches exactly the right person.
SHOW UP
Go to the show when you can. Bring a friend. Support the independent venues giving these artists a stage. A room full of people starts one person at a time.
SUPPORT
Buy the shirt. Grab the album. Pick up some merch when you can. But supporting independent music doesn't always have to cost money. Follow the artist, comment on their posts, stream their music and help keep their name moving.
MAKE SOME NOISE
If you discover an artist you believe in, don't keep them a secret. Talk about them. Request them. Share them. Tell your friends.
Independent music has always survived because somebody believed in it.

DISCOVER INDEPENDENT MUSIC
This is where the uprising gets loud.
Independent artists deserve to be heard. This is where I’ll share the bands and artists I think you should know about — interviews, artist spotlights, new music, videos, live performances and more.
Some you may already know. Some you may have never heard of. Either way, the goal is simple: give independent artists another place to be heard and give music fans a chance to discover something new.
You might just find your next favorite band here.

WANT TO BE FEATURED?
Are you an independent artist or band with music you want people to hear?
Independent Uprising is about discovering and supporting artists who are out there doing it the hard way. If you're interested in being considered for an artist spotlight, interview, music feature or other coverage, I want to hear from you.
Send me a little about yourself or your band, links to your music and social media, and tell me what you're currently working on. New release? Upcoming shows? New video? Just trying to get your music in front of some new ears? Send it my way.
I'm looking for real independent artists making real music and people with a story to tell.
Independent doesn't mean invisible. Let's make some noise.
